Easy, cheap version of Frosty Paws

This recipe is brought to you by: http://www.bullwrinkle.com/Assets/Recipes/Recipes.htm The original name is Frozen Peanut Butter Yogurt Treats. I took the recipe and made it to my liking and here is how it turned out.

Ingredients:
* 6oz. plain yogurt
* ~1/4 cup organic peanut butter

1. Put the peanut butter in a microwave safe dish and microwave until melted.
2. Mix the yogurt and the melted peanut butter in a bowl.

3. Pour mixture into ice cube tray or on wax paper and freeze.


4. Pop out your frozen treats.


5. Let your dog try them.


6. Watch your dog enjoy!

Doggy Birthday Cake

(This is from April 5, 2010; I originally added it to my cooking blog before I established this blog.

I (well, my sister) made this cake for my little Snow's 1st birthday. It did not upset her tummy and she LOVED it! The recipe comes from www.bullwrinkle.com. I cut the recipe in half, so you can find the FULL recipe here.

Ingredients:
* 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
* 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/4 cup soft butter
* 1/4 cup corn oil (I used vegetable)
* 1 jar baby food, meat, beef, strained (I used pureed beef in broth)
* 2 eggs
* 1 strips beef jerky (I used Bacon style treats)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a mini loaf pan (I used the top of my big top cupcake bakeware). Cream butter until smooth. Add corn oil, baby food, and eggs. Mix until smooth.

Mix dry ingredients into beef mixture until batter is smooth. Crumble beef jerky and fold into batter. Pour batter into loaf pan. Bake 50 minutes. Cool on wire rack 15 minutes. Ice with plain yogurt or cottage cheese.

Store uneaten cake in refrigerator.

Tuna Training Treats

I checked this book out of the library and found some good things. These stuck out to me because Snowflake LOVESSS tuna! She is Ga-Ga over these! The book is called Throw Me A Bone: 50 Healthy, Canine Taste-Tested Recipes for Snacks, Meals, and Treats and is written by Cooper Gillespie with recipes by Sally Sampson.

Tuna Training Treats

Ingredients:

* Vegetable Oil (I used Pam)

* 2 (6-ounce) cans tuna in water

* 2 large eggs

* 1-1 1/2 c. rice flour or unbleached all-purpose flour (I used all-purpose)

* 1 T. garlic powder (I used less than half)

* Grated parmesan cheese

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 and lightly grease a 8x8 cake pan.

2. Place tuna, including water, in a bowl and wash with fork until clumps are out.

3. Transfer to blender or food processor and process until liquefied.

4. Add the eggs and extra water (if needed) to liquefy completely.

5. Pour into a mixing bowl, add the flour and garlic powder.

6. Mix until the consistency is that of cake mix.

7. Spread into the prepared pan.

8. Sprinkle with LOTS of Parmesan.

9. Bake until edges pull away and texture is like putty. About 15 minutes.

10. Turn out pan and let cool completely.

11. Cut with a pizza cutter into small squares. (64)

12. Call your dog in to try the new treat.

13. Your dog should look interested, and even may beg.

14. Finally, let your dog have at it! (WARNING) Your dog may LOVE these and whine at the freezer until you get one!)

*Freeze in an airtight container to have a longer lasting life!

**Yield: 64

***Serving size: 2-3

So I have a cooking blog and decided to create a separate blog dedicated to all my doggy recipes! Let me tell you a little about my darling little darla...

Her name is Snowflake and she is a 6 pound maltese that is spoiled rotten by everyone around her! She loves apples and tuna, and doesn't like carrots (at least by themselves). She also enjoys cuddling and eating air.

You might be wondering..why do I refer to Snowflake as darla? Well, my mom loves little snow and she has always made names up for us growing up and she started calling snow little darla because she is such a darling little doggy!
